The nursery cares for children ages 3 months through to primary school year 6. We also have an under 2 room where specialist staff care for the children.  Opening times are Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm all year round, excluding bank holidays.

Session times are 8am - 1pm or full day 8am - 6pm. (Other times may be available at the Manager's discretion.)

Baby Room

The environment for our babies is warm and secure and we cater for their learning as well as their care. The room is bright and spacious and the resources encourage exploration, investigation, learning through their senses and physical development.  

Non-mobile babies benefit from resources suited to their needs such as play mats, mobiles and bouncers. For the more mobile child the room offers continuous provision such as story and book corner, messy activities, home corner, treasure baskets and construction.

Toddler (2-3 years) Room

When your child is 2 years old he/she will move up to the toddlers play room.  Development is still based on learning through play. Toddlers have access to a range of toys designed to stimulate their imagination and offer plenty of scope to practise the new skills they are developing.  They always have open access to construction toys and other equipment which helps develop fine motor skills, together with a plentiful supply of books, jigsaws, baking and craft materials.  Outside play is very important, and children are taken outside as much as possible, where they can ride bikes, climb and jump.  Our lower outdoor activity area has just been refurbished with a fantastic wooden pirate ship.  


The Department for Education allows all children from the age of 3 years to receive 15 hours a week free childcare (FENE). However you can only use 10 hours in one day. We can also provide wrap-around childcare. You can find further details on the FENE curriculum here.

We were inspected by Ofsted on 24th February 2012 and were rated as 'Good'. They said, "children make good progress with their learning and development.  They are cared for in a well-resourced environment where staff plan carefully to meet all children's needs.  Staff have a high regard for children's health and welfare and this is reflected in the robust policies and procedures that are in place". After School club  We offer before and after school care for primary school children.  In the morning we can give your child the breakfast that you have provided and then drop them off at school.  In the afternoon we will collect them from school and provide a snack and light activities until you can collect them.

Time for Self  As far as we know Bolton Nursery is unique in offering this! If you need a little 'you' time you can book your children into nursery for some extra sessions - although they must be agreed with the manager first. 

Holiday club  Holiday club is offered during primary school holidays but not on Bank Holidays. The children get the chance to take part in lots of different fun activities. We are open: 8am till 6pm weekdays throughout the holidays
